In the beginning of summer the Championship of Ukraine on basketball among veterans went in the city-hero, legendary Sevastopol. The capital's basketball players participated in all three age categories. Nikolaev, Dnepropetrovsk, Zhitomir were in two, and Sevastopol, Simferopol, Odessa, Donetsk, Lugansk, Krivoy Rog, Druzhkovka and Mukachevo were in one.
40+ - Kiev, Druzhkovka, Dnepropetrovsk, Krivoy Rog.
45+ - A: Sevastopol, Nikolayev, Zhitomir, B: Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa.

In the category of 45 + the favorites were the teams of Kiev and Mykolayiv, but as it turned out, the owners of the play, led by Vladimir Plotka, did not yield the major components of the game, and their strong-willed and physical fitness have surpassed all. This what happened with the first play with Nikolaev and in subsequent games.
Nikolaev - Sevastopol. In the first period the younger players of Sevastopol attacked with long-distance throws, and five of them have been effective. Veterans of Nikolaev could not withstand and lost the first period with a score of 16 : 23. In the second period the game was better, S. Smagin - two "triple throws", good play of Berezhinsky A. and Petrov A., but the second period Nikolaev lost with a score of 18 : 21. After the first half of the game Nikolaev lost 34 : 44. The third period Sevastopol added the speed and the result was 16 : 25. In the fourth period "triple throws" of Y. Zhukov and S. Smagin and apt throws of Petrov A. , C Lakezin, L. Sorokin and A. Semeiko could not save the game: 67 : 88. Players of Sevastopol: V. Plotka scored 18 points (4 “triple throws”), S. Ivchatov - 16 points, and S. Savin - 14. The best of Nikolayev’s team were S.Smagin with 23 points and MS A. Berezhinsky - 19 points.
Nikolaev - Zhitomir. This game was for second place in class and Nikolaev should be win. Nykolaev rushed to the attack: L Sorokin - 7 points (3), S. Lakezin - 18, Petrov 10, S. Smagin - 13 and A. Berezhinsky - 24 points. Victory of AMICO - 71 : 47.
Nikolaev - Odessa. This game was a struggle not only for the bronze, but for the right to participate in the Olympics of Ukraine. From the first minutes Odessits played aggressively and effectively: Gorokhov - long-range shot - 3 points, he was supported by Bogdanov and Yakhno - by three points. Nikolayev responded by well-aimed throws of Lakezin S., A. Petrov, L. Sorokin, S. and S. Smagin and A. Berezhinskiy. But Odessa continued to throw accurately, they were ubiquitous and won the first period with a score of 17 : 21.
